I'm building objects - little boxes with many little holes some kinds of slices and different numbers of little or bigger grips. So it sounds not very interesting but during my work every piece developed it' s own character. I not plan my work - I only makes labs and then my huts are growing. But the most important thing is every piece has his little secret in it. They have no lids but you can see through the different types of holes and openings and everyone is wondering what is hiding in it. So the space between is very important for each box. In the time of my work the ideas changes a bit, just it changes to a new mixture of different architectures - it becomes houses and huts of buildings and maybe in the end its a little town, a puzzle of buildings.Every piece has grips or doors - it points at the space between the houses and activate or close corridors. |

Hey Susanne, I reaaly like your idea, the last sentence reminded me a little of what i propose to do with my own work for this project. You mention little houses creating corridors....I intend to use our main corridor of our art school as the space for my installation. As you say we walk common yet different routes to get us from A to B and sometimes we do not have a choice as the space itself tells you where to go. I really like the idea of interupting a space and this is what i intend to do with my porcelain cylinders.I will be working with the space in between each individual piece and also the line that will be dividing the space of the corridor. I will hopefully document this with a video as well as slides. I wish i could write more but I just went over the limit so i had to delete a lot. So keep me updated on how your work is going and i will do the same. All the best, your Aussie friend Rebel-le. |
