Ina Janicke :: In Between

Trance in the act of creation. Animal bodies get human heads and vice versa. Maybe my figures are middles between the perceptible and the sensed. It is the question of before and after. And then this crazy idea that they could come out one day, very slowly out of the canalization. On a cool May evening or a mild July summer night and take possession of our spaces...

Suzanne Petzold :: Rotubalina
First of all, the clay slabs grow to boxes, to the space between, hide secrets. The boxes thrive and make themselves independent. A pueblo rises. Then a space which sprung out of the Orient. A city grows with the most variant roots. Not the one, special space but a collection of symbols for church, mosque or bridge - echos of things already built, existing but also things fallen apart. Burned in a wood fire, a surface joins the pieces which almost turns them into finds from an excavation. Even after that - dependent on the lighting - much is possible. Flights of stairs form themselves, alleys, and also spacious areas. Correspondences are always new through the objects which invite us to play.
